As a Platinum Invisalign Provider, Dr. Pittman offers clear aligner treatment along with advanced options like Empower self-ligating brackets, MARPE, and TADs when they’re appropriate for a patient’s needs. He also provides additional care ranging from teeth whitening and treatment for impacted teeth to laser procedures and airway-focused services. With advanced training and technology, Dr. Pittman can build a treatment plan around each patient rather than forcing every case into the same solution.
Dr. Joseph Pittman (or “Dr. P”) is a board-certified orthodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Before orthodontics, he studied mechanical engineering at Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude with honors. He later completed his orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina, where he also served as President of the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Pittman’s mix of engineering and orthodontic knowledge shapes his approach to clinical care today. He also leads local dental and orthodontic study clubs and remains closely involved in the Greater Raleigh community.

Dr. Pittman recommends an orthodontic screening by this age so that developing bite or growth concerns can be identified early. Most children do not need treatment right away and can simply be monitored as they grow.
