Orthodontic Treatments
Adult Orthodontics

At Pittman Family Orthodontics, we provide premium adult orthodontic care that ensures you have a confident and healthy smile. Our adult orthodontic treatments involve the use of orthodontic appliances, such as clear aligners or braces, to correct misaligned teeth, jaws, and bite problems.
Despite being commonly associated with children and teenagers, many adults undergo orthodontic treatment to improve their dental health, function, and aesthetics.
Child & Teen Orthodontics

Every child deserves a healthy and happy smile. As parents, we want the best for our children and that includes their dental health. We develop customized treatment plans with the family to create healthy and beautiful smiles.
Orthodontics Surgery

Orthodontic surgery is a great augment procedure to orthodontics to address underlying skeletal disharmony. The primary goal of the surgery is to enhance the function and aesthetics of the teeth, jaws and facial structure. It may involve several methods, including repositioning of the upper and lower jaws, reshaping the chin or cheekbones, or correcting a cleft palate.
Kids, Teen & Adult Braces
Metal Braces

Metal braces use a system of brackets, wires, and elastic bands to gradually shift your teeth into the correct position. This method is highly effective in correcting a wide range of orthodontic issues, from overcrowding to misaligned bites.
While some may shy away from metal braces due to their reputation for being noticeable and uncomfortable, advancements in orthodontic technology have made them more comfortable and discreet than ever before. Plus, metal braces are often a more budget-friendly option compared to other orthodontic treatments.
Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are a great options for patients who prefer or need braces, but hope to make it inconspicuous. Ceramic brackets are made of a porcelain material that will not stain.
Damon Braces

Pittman Family Orthodontics is pleased to offer our patients passive self-ligating Damon braces. These brackets have small doors which means we don’t need to use o-rings that deteriorate over time. By combining tie-less brackets and high-tech archwires, we minimize discomfort by reducing the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth and require fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace.
Invisalign and Spark Aligners
Invisalign and Spark Aligners for Teens & Adults
At Pittman, we understand that traditional braces can be inconvenient for adults who wish to straighten their teeth. That’s why we offer Invisalign & Spark aligners treatment, which is the clear choice for discreet teeth straightening. With transparent plastic aligners custom-fitted over your teeth, the treatment is comfortable and gentle, gradually moving your teeth to the desired position. The treatment plan involves wearing a series of aligners, each for a specific period of time. Typically aligners require less office visits compared to traditional braces. The best part is, the aligners are removable, making them incredibly convenient for your lifestyle.

Treatment Types
Growth Observation and Management
Many of our patients have their first orthodontic visit years before we begin treatment. For most kids, these checks are quick and once all the permanent teeth have erupted we discuss orthodontic treatment. By monitoring growth and tooth exfoliation during the mixed dentition stage we are able to correct or minimize problems early and begin comprehensive orthodontic treatment at the most optimal time. For the kids that benefit from early intervention, this may mean doing interceptive orthodontic treatment or having a few primary teeth removed early.
Interceptive Orthodontic Treatment
Certain orthodontic problems need to be addressed early. Typical problems that necessitate early treatment are crossbites, severe crowding, underbites and misalignment that is causing psychosocial problems. Early treatment at our office is typically for a year or less and is targeted to address the specific problem that requires early intervention.
Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment
Most patients receive comprehensive treatment, meaning we are moving all the patient’s teeth with a goal of creating the most ideal result. After a thorough and holistic exam, we decide together with the patient on the best treatment technique after discussing their unique presentation and the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches. After the shared decision-making process, Dr. Pittman creates a custom treatment plan that details the expected length of treatment, specific orthodontic techniques and other important details. We can make changes to our plan throughout treatment but it serves as a helpful roadmap during the orthodontic journey. Comprehensive treatment can be done with braces or aligners and can include appliances. Also, adults and teens receive comprehensive treatment.
Limited Orthodontic Treatment
Limited treatment is Orthodontics that is focused on a specific orthodontic issue like posterior spacing, impacted molars or localized crowding. Limited treatment is usually shorter and less costly, and is sometimes a great option for patients.
Retention
Retention is an important component of successful orthodontic treatment. This can refer to creating retainers for a new patient at our office or transitioning into retainers after active orthodontic treatment. The fibers around the teeth need time after treatment to remodel to the new position of the teeth, which is why retainers after treatment are so important. Additionally, soft tissue pressures on teeth change with age so teeth continue to shift without retainers. There are two main categories for retainers: bonded retainers and removable retainers.
